1. Parents’ Credit Cards

See if your parents would be willing to add you to one of their credit cards. Chances are they may be willing to do it as long as you don’t use the credit card.

But even without using the credit card or making payments, you are going to piggyback on their credit history. But only do this if your parents are diligent about paying their bills.

2. Check Student Credit Cards

Check into student credit cards through a bank. They usually have a low limit, but if you are faithful in paying it off each month your credit will be built quickly. You can use it for anything, but be sure that you are going to be able to pay it off each month. Don’t overextend yourself.

3. Secured Credit Card

If you don’t qualify for a student credit card, the next best choice is a secured credit card. With a secured credit card, you need to put money aside that equals your credit line for collateral.
